Orientation and going public! :)

Last night was our orientation class at the Department of Social Services for people interested in foster parenting.

All the ladies were super nice.  The first one *A with whom I have been corresponding via email was the first to come up and meet with us, she handed us an informational packet and I started flipping through it while others were filtering in.

Joey looked over my shoulder and started reading with me, stopping me when I started to flip the pages so he could finish reading.  :)

The class was informative and very informal we watched a video about the realities/responsibilites of foster parenting and at the end the lady said, "OK! How many have we scared away already?"  I watched Joey's reaction all night, because I am certian God has written this on MY heart.  And I really hoped for a gauge tonight of where Joey's heart was.  A couple of things we read in the pamplet made us realize if it was a rule, it was probably because someone had done it (no locking foster children in the closet for time out discipline) --Lord Break My Heart for What BREAKS Yours!  He was almost teary eyed.

When the lady asked who they had scared off, first he smiled, and this I watched his face get this look,  this look that only I know.  This look that he had about finishing BLET at the top of his class.  (oh...the tears right now writing this) and then his jaw tightened just a little as he shook his head.

No.

He wasn't scared.  And this is when I knew, he's really in this with me, not because of me.

So last night and this morning we told his dad and stepmom.

WE ARE DOING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (God, Joey and I).  We are doing this!

I can hardly wait for the next class!
